some positions. Having 5*s 3 deep can be a pretty expensive proposition. Plus, most are going to want some playing time rather than sitting on the bench.
I don't think that Alabama is a wealthier state than Missouri. They have fewer citizens, lower per capita income and two major D1 schools to support.

If Missouri's typical 2 deep was compared to Alabama's in the years before NIL and then projected what their NIL payroll would need to be to sustain that I think we would see that they would probably need to pay 2 to 3 times or so more than Missouri would... but I don't believe that they are likely able to do that.
