the luxury of 4-6 years to implement a system anymore. You can't ever have a single digit win season as a HC, especially in year 2 of a rebuild. You just can't do that and expect to be successful. The players will just leave and then he's back at square 1.

I like Gates, I just don't know if he's a good enough coach to have sustained success at this level. All I know is that his leash just got a lot shorter and he has only 1 more season to win back the fanbase.
