I was a kid. That's when I became a fan. We had some weird years with huge upsets followed by losses to bad teams. Then the malaise set in. 80s were so dark. Mizzou was a punchline. The earliest I remember excitement creeping back in was the 1992 Colorado night game. People were really fired up to get revenge for the 5th down game.

It was kind of indescribable to see the program get over the hump at Colorado in 1997. Still gives me chills thinking about it. Step by step.
