Wow. Hard to believe this is even a topic.

Growing up in Camdenton, I was there for a large portion of the dumpster fire.

I have no idea if the issue with Powers were alcohol, recruiting because of admissions, Babs, or incompetence. All I can say is that the quality of recruits under Powers seemed to decrease. We became less and less competitive. And I remember the final, rain-soaked loss the the idiots from Lawrence.

I think it is probably fairest to say if you do not have a community aligned around success, success is hard. Power's staying would have made little difference even if he was really good as a coach (and I have no real information about his coaching). We did not have the backing of committed administration, backers, etc.
