Bad administration mostly that led to bad hires.

I actually think that Bob Stull and his staff could have turned things around if given the right support by the administration. Things started to turn slowly when we rehired Dan Devine as AD and he had a young assistant in Joe Castiglione (who left for OU and is still the AD there).

MU basically squandered their position as a top 25 program through the 70s and early 80s. Had we been invested when college football was starting to blow up we wouldn't have had a 13 year gap between winning seasons.
