I think his record would have regressed to about.500, with minor bowls every few years (think Minnesota, Iowa State, Texas Tech). The only school that challenged Nub and Zero U was Colorado, and they could only do so at great cost by recruiting the worst people imaginable. So, I would guess WPs inability to maintain a "1975-1985" performance level would have done him in, and the lack of enthusiasm and admin support would have led what we endured with Widenhofer and Stull anyway.
