at Mizzou in 1976 was $584. Minimum wage was $2 an hour in the 70s so paying that was definitely doable even working part time.

And then when he graduated, I bet he was able to purchase a house for about the equivalent of $100k today. He probably even didn't have to have his wife work. She could have stayed home with the kids and they still could have lived comfortably.

The American dream back in the boomers day was definitely way more attainable than it is today.
