Missouri is a difficult school to entice kids to come too. Columbia is by far the best small city in the Midwest but if you don’t already live there you don’t know it. It’s the only place I’d move back to of all the Midwest towns I’ve lived in but overall Missouri is simply not a desirable place. Landlocked. Hot summers. Literally nothing exciting to do. No major airport although they aren’t far. Extremely conservative which is going to turn off a lot of recruits families from the great softball state of California and others out west and educationally it’s just a regular solid school it’s not a name like Stanford. Coaches here have an uphill battle. Other schools in similar positions like UK at least have storied past in a sport or two to fall back on and entice student athletes.
