and TX. There really is no need and it dilutes the brand.
This has nothing to do with OU and TX $$, fans, or reputation. There are just enough teams in the league.
It is like any other pro league that just keeps adding teams and before you know it winning one conference/league title every 30 years is considered average. Well the average fan of that club isn't as invested as one that wins every 10-15 years.
Having a 9 game schedule further ruins the league as half the teams lose an extra game each year that likely was a win against an OOC team. Less winning seasons period affects fan bases
It wasn't necessary and shouldn't have happened. Someone was afraid B1G would pass the SEC and there really wasn't a need.
