I will say a lot of your thoughts are pretty much true ... the SEC membership will help the recruiting process ... so much of many teams future depends on how they set up the conference schedule IMO ...
I think there is a good chance the SEC brains will set it up to replicate the old Big 8/Southwest conference and the old SEC conference ...TAM, Texas, OU, Arkansas and Mizzou + a couple more in one division and as many of the older, traditional SEC teams in another ... traditional rivalries remain in place, etc.
