college sports, closely, since the early-80s.
I dont think anyone is expecting UTex or OU to get obliterated in the SEC, in any sport.
I sure dont.
But
The simple truth, fact and reality is: UTex and OU WILL NOT come into the SEC and dominate it, in any sport.
The SWC, BIG8, Big12, “Big Whatever” conferences are not close to being as tough, nor competitive as the SEC.
Your schools will win some, lose some... like everyone does.
You will have seasons where, in whatever sport, you are winning a good bit.
Sometimes, your schools will falter a bit.
The competition level, officiating, fans, venues... TOP OF THE NCAA CONFERENCES.
In all-around greatness, difficulty, intensity, etc.
The SEC is simply a different monster.
A walk thru HELL??
No.
But it is simply no casual ride thru a buncha’ “1-sport success” teams/schools.
Even our mid-tier schools.. my Hogs for example, is no EZ task to play, in any sport.
There is no “gimme win”.
ALL schools here can, and will, upset the best there is, at any time.
NEVER A WEEKEND OFF IN CONFERENCE HERE.
(unlike all other conferences)
As a friendly suggestion, i advise you soonerz , and the whorns, leave the arrogance in the past... cuz in the SEC, that shyte will get you .500 seasons, more often than you want.
You’ll find out, soon enuff.
