According to Tigerboard, the SEC is this horrific meat grinder that the world hasn't seen the likes of since the winter Siege of Stalingrad or possibly the Rape of Nanking.
Oklahoma and Texas are joining this fray and will not only perpetually lose but also be humiliated and physically injured every time they play. It will be so bad that Sooner and Horn fans might actually question the sexuality of our players. Bama and Georgia are the only two that can survive this nightmare and occasionally LSU/Auburn/Florida/Tenn rise up and achieve short lived success. The rest don't seem to matter. They are fodder for the top of the league to violate and emasculate for TV ratings. The Tigerboard "Think Tank" has determined this will be OU and Texas' new domicile from now until eternity, right there along with the Tigers.
I won't bother with the hundred(s) of past posts saying "The SEC will never take OU" because that is tedious and unnecessary at this point. I will point out the rather instant success aTM and MU had upon entering the SEC. I'd also argue both SEC newcomers have performed at their normal historical level and have leveled out about where they were expected to be. The notion that Bama and Georgia are forever set atop the throne of college football is very short sighted as well. Saban is gone within a year or two, Kirby appears to have it going perfectly but to assume they reach the level bama had going is overly optimistic. What Saban has done the last 12 years might never be done again due to parity and the competitive nature of CFB. We don't even have a full understanding of the impact of NIL at this point, but it appears it will further spread talent across the country where Bama alone had the advantage for being The preeminent NFL factory the last decade.
So the smart fan will see the "Improved" SEC for what it will be. Yes, the teams at the top will take an additional loss or two per year, but it will be baked into the narrative that a 2 or 3 loss SEC team is still better than an undefeated Big 10 or Big 12/Pac 12 school. When Lincoln Riley is rolling Rutgers 77-0, it will mean nothing.
So Tigerboarders are thinking the Big 12 Oklahoma Sooners are coming to a SEC venue near you to get killed and exposed. The flaw in that is the Big 12 Sooners couldn't land the D line prospects they needed once they left Big 12 play and faced a true national contender. Those High school prospects watched the NFL draft and saw the first round defensive picks were almost all in the SEC. OU will no longer have that limitation going forward and it is already paying off. The #1 Dlineman in the country for 2024 is at IMG in Florida and he will be a Sooner. OU will build lines that withstand the SEC rigors. Lincoln Riley couldn't get this done, Venables knows what it takes. His defense has a 31-0 CFP game against Ohio State and a 44-16 Natty over Bama. Dabos success on defense wasn't anything to do with Dabo, and Oklahoma is a better recruiting ground especially going forward than clemson ever was.
OU is giving up an easier path to the CFP so that when they do get there they will be better built and more likely to win it than what we have been doing in the big 12.
So there's one more season for Tigerboarders to predict failure and shame for OU in the SEC so let's hear it. I mean, you can't lose saying we are the next Nebraska because no one will call you on it or remember anyway. Just keep watching those 4 and 5 star D lineman and corners committing to OU and just keep saying " the next Nebraska, the next Nebraska, the next Nebraska"
