the supreme court doesn't "give power to the people." power is vested in the people. what powers the constitution didn't give the federal government were reserved to the states OR THE PEOPLE.

the supreme court is taking a constitutionally recognized right and ceding it to the states' police power. just leave emotion out of it and have an honest conversation.
