Gregorian and his team went through years of cell phone records of Snyder's staff by using sunshine law requests. They did "gotcha" on things like Tony Harvey calling a recruit's mother during a dead period. Gregorian also went back and traced Clemons back to his grade school teachers to get dirt on him.
They would never do that to Kansas in Kansas City. When Stewart pushed the envelope with Rich Daly and Detroit in the late 80s and early 90s the Post actually sent a reporter (Gordon) to Detroit to "uncover" the illegalities and write a series of accusatory articles.
When O'Liney came to Mizzou they sent Gordon down to Florida to his junior college to try to find something. They did the same thing with Gordon when the Haleys signed. Sent him to Oklahoma or wherever they were from. I had a lot of this confirmed by Lee Winfield who was an assistant coach at the time that I knew.
If the local media won't "allow" you to cheat that's a huge obstacle you need to overcome.
