"us" is the ignoring of reality. And I would submit the past 18 months as Exhibit A.

Also, as pickle points out below, the Constitution did not say that blacks were "3/5 of a person". That is a perpetuated misinterpretation of the clause about counting persons for apportionment of representatives.
