That is a far better conference than the AAC. I mean, not even close since the AAC has Tulane, East Carolina, Tulsa, Navy.

That would still be a formidable football conference, and a powerful basketball conference.

And all 4 schools they'd be adding are decent at football and basketball both.

BYU, Cincy, Memphis and Houston would all much rather ben in the Big 12 with that name brand and those 8 remaining schools, than be in the AAC.

And the 8 remaining Big 12 schools don't want to take a huge step down in brand name to the AAC with a bunch of weak schools.
