He was talking about the decision about himself.

His reason for not worrying about COVID was purely death rate (0.3% for his age group). His reason for not taking the vaccine was about unknown future side effects. That is not an apples to apples comparison.

I took the vaccine for the following reasons:

- I travel, and will likely need one to get back to traveling, especially internationally
- I do not like getting sick and missing work or social engagements, or having an increased risk of needing to see a doctor or more
- Also, since I travel, I would interact with a lot of people going different places, potentially contributing to a larger spread
- After seeing the first few rounds of the vaccine, I have seen that the risk is very minimal
