while they are less likely than adults to transmit the virus that chance is not zero. Every interaction I have with a kid there is a slight chance they could pass the virus on to me. I thought the vaccine mitigated that chance as well as the dangers to me if it were transmitted.

As a personal choice it made sense to me. If I were 35 instead of 55 then there is a very good chance I would have come to a different conclusion.
