Last year, Trump pushes the vaccine, CNN and others are scared of it.
This year, Biden et al pushes the vaccine, and a certain subset of people, mostly on the right, are scared of it.
There are reasons to take the vaccine (aside: I've taken it), yet there are also reasons to consider not taking it - especially given Big Pharma's dubious ethical past.
And of course, the Biden administration, if they're indeed wanting people who are currently resistant to taking the vaccine to take it, are approaching this completely wrong.
There's a huge credibility problem with the government/media complex to a certain set of people. The past 18 months hasn't done anything to help that but instead has made things way worse and people have become WAY more skeptical about being sure to "do what the government says."
Sure, Fauci lied at least twice about masks, lockdowns may or may not work but they're so very important, and on and on. But they're telling the truth about this vaccine. The fact that the government is trying so damned hard to get the non-vaxxers to vax will likely make them dig in their heels and be even more determined not to get the vaccine.
If the Biden administration was serious about getting those folks to have a vaccine, they'd convince either George W. Bush or Trump to go on camera for a PSA encouraging the vaccine.
Because there are a hell of a lot of reasons right now why the American moderates/right do NOT trust the Biden administration or his media disciples.
