2. Moving the Overton Window toward liberty. If 50% of the population said "taxation is theft" and the other 50% said "yeah, but we want to have a few govt monopoly services", then the compromise would fall much, much closer toward liberty. Instead, we live in world where govt has its hands in every aspect of life. It's not a coincidence that the alleged limited govt party and supporters fight the concept of "taxation is theft".
