What is the quality of Missouri high school football? I'd say average for a midwestern state.
What is quality of St. Louis and Kansas City HS football? Can only speak for St. Louis. We produce some decent top tier talent. Problem is, those kids usually get poached by the Ohio St's and other blue bloods. Mizzou needs to win the local battle for kids who are looking at other similar Big 10, Big 12 and SEC teams.
What out of state HS areas have been most fertile for Mizzou? Texas.
Seems like you guys will get 3 and low 4 star players out of SEC footprint, but that’ll not put you ahead of other SEC schools except for Vandy, Ky, etc. We're not a blue blood and never will be. Texas gets top 10 recruits every year and doesn't do anything with them. We need to be top 30ish or so and try to develop some diamonds in the rough. We had a pretty good run of placing guys in the first or second rounds of the draft.
What recruiting value for kids in Texas and California?
I'm not sure we even recruit Cali. Dallas is I think one of the bigger Mizzou alum bases outside of St. Louis and KC plus I guess we made enough inroads there when were in the Big 12
I think most Mizzou fans would accept a competitive team every year that once in a while is going to pull the big upset and on occasion challenge for an East Title.
