progeny faced. We fought a hot war that destroyed lives and property. Most estimate the number killed from 650,000 to 700,000 American dead. Our ancestors should have never allowed slavery in the Colony and the Founders should have ensured that every human was protected under our Constitution. Instead, they compromised for the sake of unity and every one of them were complicit in what followed. Still, you don't appear to accept that it is far better for American descendants of those African slaves that their ancestors were brought here in that status.
