system from which they will never collect? What would be their motivation for doing that? If those people were never going to collect from the system wouldn’t they rightfully want that money going towards their personal retirement portfolio?

If you eliminate SS what do you do with those of retirement age who are unable to support themselves? Wouldn’t the welfare system just have to pick up the slack, in effect trading one social program for another?
