does not reduce the number of cases nor the severity of those individual cases? The goal was to reduce spikes and make sure our medical system could handle the flow of cases. We succeeded in that. Even NYC was not overwhelmed.

This virus is still every bit as infectious and the same number will likely catch it. We have lessened the y-variable, the severity, by extending the x-variable, the time. But we did not alter the underlying equations. Short of a vaccine people are still going to get sick and die from this thing. We cannot simply hide until it goes away.

Please explain why this message is being reported.
