it can go bankrupt or lose business. Customers can go elsewhere. They also have shareholders who can make a change or stop investing in them.

For cops, it is a monopoly. Customers cannot go elsewhere...and even worse..if a cop messes up and gets sued...who pays for it....not the cop, but the taxpayers.

This is your blind spot. I used to have the same blind spot from the liberal point of view.
