Just like with ummm below, you just skip over the first part and go on your own way.
That statement and ummm's explanation around it is what took me from a liberal to more libertarian like.
Honestly, I don't worry about the logic.
Is it uncomfortable with what reality would look like under logic..sure..but why let that stand in your way.
It does a great job pointing out the hypocrisy of R vs D and big government types that claim they are for freedom, but really are not.
When you put the trade war, the war on immigration, the drug war, the war on terrorism through that lense, it becomes much clearer.
The same with the word "marriage" Yes, it is personal to you....but how someone else uses that has exactly no influence on your personal story.
