and she would say that your last paragraph is the biggest impediment. Parents want their kids to get good grades, not necessarily learn. They are often messes themselves and can't foster a learning environment. And, we have a system that encourages teachers to get the bottom rung to a certain level, while ignoring the gifted who could do so much more if encouraged.

Please explain why this message is being reported.
