concealable firearm is what they named it, not me. I agree that the name is misleading but again that's what the crime is called.

and it says quite clearly you violate it if you violate either federal statute. The fed statute is very clear. The first section is about selling guns while the other is specifically about the legality of juveniles possessing a handgun and has nothing to do with a transfer.

you can believe me or not, but I'm telling you flat out that this is the case. I can't speak to every county but the 4 prosecutors and the US attorney's office with whom I spoke will not prosecute it.

the best I got was from a juvenile officer who said that a report documenting the incident could theoretically (but not necessarily) be used to later charge the juvenile with a status offense for a "behavior injurious to welfare" violation. This is a status offense like curfew, truancy, etc. something illegal only b/c of their age, but it's not criminal and it's definitely not something they'd authorize an arrest for.
