Gotta keep Wilmes in RF. She looks very comfortable out there and is already better defensively than anyone else we've had out there this year.
But Rollin is simply awful at SS and unless she improves, coach A. will have to move her elsewhere or perhaps DP. But then what happens to Torres? And I sure would like to see George get some AB's.
In other news, I am very impressed with D. Garrison's base running. Not just her speed but her instincts and daring. Remember against Georgia where she ran from 2nd to 3rd as the infielder was throwing out our hitter? Was crucial. And Sunday she was pinch running on 1st when our batter delivered a line drive hit to short RF. Most runners would hesitate to be certain the ball was going to fall in but she read it perfectly and went to 3rd. The RF'er threw to 3rd and the batter advanced to 2nd, so we had 2nd and 3rd with no outs instead of 1st and 2nd.
And I like the way coach A uses G Garrison as a pinch runner for Torres instead of any of the other speedsters. That way when Torres spot in the order comes up next time coach can choose which one of the two she wants to hit depending on the situation. Oh and isn't Torres fun to watch hit with her talking to herself and gum chewing?!
