that ToP doesn't matter. No, you do not need to win ToP by 10+ minutes. That is not the point, but that seems to be the assumption they base their argument upon.
ToP is a result, not a cause, and if you are focused on achieving a certain ToP, you are going to fail. But if you are playing efficient ball, you're going to achieve a ToP that is in the ballpark of even or slightly ahead.
Out on the field, there is a huge difference between losing ToP 25 to 35 and losing ToP 29 to 31.
The differnece between losing by 2 minutes and winning by 2 minutes is more modest, and this appears to be where most people base the argument. It's just not where Mizzou has been operating.
If we lost ToP by 2 minutes per game, it is a non factor. But losing it by 10 minutes per game is really hurting us.
