But that comes with the disclaimer that it's only irrelevant when you're doing it by design.
A pass-happy offense that scores a lot and scores quickly will typically have a lower TOP than a run-heavy offense (clock stops moving on incomplete passes, more big plays through the air creating shorter drives, etc).
The important thing is that you're able to hold onto the ball when you want to.
With Crockett, Rountree, and our OL, we should be able to slow things down effectively when we want. And hopefully we have a few receivers who can hold onto the ball a little better this year.
A great quarterback, a reliable ground game, a couple dependable possession receivers, and a couple deep threats is pretty damn hard to stop, regardless of what TOP says at the end of the game.
