poor defense and you run three 2-yard runs up the middle, you can give your defense more rest by running the play clock down every play.

Because the game clock would not stop when running the ball, the overall result at the end of the day would be giving the opposing offense fewer plays.

But overall I agree with you and don't really care about TOP.
