was due to factors mostly outside of his control in Dixon being dismissed and Bowers getting injured.

His 3rd season was a transition year (that still won 23 games). He inherited a situation where the entire roster required turning over due to class imbalance, and was kind of constrained in recruiting due to the Miami investigation. Nobody should have had realistic expectations that there would never be a transition season given the inherited situation. I felt that should have been an NCAA tourney team, but they didn't deserve to be because they came up short.
