not describing a good year. Its not a terrible year put in the context of what was going on in the program. But not a good year.
I think a better use case would be 2000-01. We went 19-12 during the regular season and 9-7 in conference for a 6th place finish in the Big 12. Earned an at large bid, and went 1-1 in NCAA tourney play. If we had gotten an at large big but lost in the first round, that hypothetical would have been a 19-13 season that made the NCAA tourney and finished 6th in a 12 team conference. I would say that is not a good year, even though it exceeded both baseline criteria. Luckily we beat Georgia on a buzzer beater that year in the tourney.
