1. Bad actions have consequences, and not necessarily only for the bad actor, but for other people too... including children, grandchildren & future generations.
2. Jesus isn't just some "personality" of God.
3. What we see now is only a tiny, tiny sliver of eternity. To a little kid falling off of a bike & getting skinned up may feel like the end of the world, but 20 years later he may not even remember it.
For a child in the womb, birth may seem like a pretty horrible event. He's getting squeezed and compressed & people are yelling & he's forced out of his comfortable home into bright lights, cold & loud noises. Pretty scary stuff perhaps.
But in the grand scheme of things it was a good thing. The pain, the fright, the horror are all forgotten.
What is coming cannot be explained to the child. It is beyond his comprehension. But his birth was not a bad thing, not matter how bad things seemed at the time.
