Grand juries rubber stamp virtually every case brought

before them. It is no "trial" in any meaningful sense of the word.
My wife sat on one for a couple of weeks(?) or so. The prosecution presents its case. They may have a few witnesses, but neither the defendant nor his/her defense attorney is there. No cross examination. No presentation of any evidence on behalf of the defendant.
My wife said that it was a slam dunk on every single case brought before them. They're only hearing one side of the story.
The prosecutor basically decides who is going to trial, not the grand jury. There's a reason they say that "a grand jury could indict a ham sandwich".
