In past incidents the FBI has aided local departments and occasionally some federal laws have been violated with respect to guns or ammo. Interstate commerce could potentially be involved, off the top of my head, but I'm no constitutional lawyer.
But they can and do act in such situations as we have seen. Do you have some clause(s) in the constitution that would prohibit them from talking to parents or the school administration prior to a crime being committed?
