Kid makes posts/statements that lead someone to believe they may commit a school shooting. Someone reports them to authorities.

Now the differences start in...the authorities actually followed up. Found out the kid had an extensive disciplinary record at school, had weapons and ammo in his possession and they arrested him. Possibly stopped a school shooting, just by doing their job.

Call me crazy, but I'd say that this kid is unlikely to shoot up a school in the future.
