somewhat vague and is open to different interpretation, especially wrt technology and other matters that could not have been imagined 200 years ago.
But generally, i agree.
For example, most conservatives say that the law allowing citizenship for all persons born in the US did not mean that momma could waddle over from mexico, squat down three feet inside our country and give birth to little jose...and jose is a citizen.
But the constitution says he's a citizen.
The law says he's a citizen.
If the law is "plumb stupid" change the law.
Jose is an american. There is no touchdown.
Congress can change the laws, not the referees.
But jose's entire family of 27 does not get to live here to avoid "breaking up the family," much as pittsburgh does not get penalized 46 yards because he dropped the ball.
