and the system that may be best to determine a national champion may also take importance away from the regular season. I don't have an answer for what may be better.
The bottom line to me is it's not a perfect system, but I don't believe a perfect system exists anyway.

Also, the weekly playoff committee rankings draw a lot of interest in CFB as it is, which is a good thing money-wise, which is what it's all about anyway.
