Dictate offense with the running game to set up Lock hitting on the big play. Finish in the red zone with TDs and keep the kicker on the sideline. Then...
When they don't score, have enough Offensive consistency to avoid the strings of 3-and-outs and whole quarters of bad field position, so that....
Fatony can give opposing teams consistently long fields, and then ....
The Defense has enough field behind them to allow teams to make the mistakes that college offenses so often do and have to put together 10+ play drives to score. When teams don't shoot themselves in the foot, the Defense is going to have to find enough big plays from a Frazier sack, a Beckner strip or TFL or a Sherril's pass break up to force teams into FGs instead of TDs and keep teams in the low 30s.
Good offense averaging mid to upper 30s + Placekicker hitting PATs and not FGAs + Wobbly Defense just good enough to force Offenses be perfect = 7 wins and no finger nails left for MU fans.
