They're a bigger prize than many people realize... BY FAR the best acquisition of any conference in the most recent realignment. Nearly as good as getting the Texas Longhorns, but with the advantage of getting a willing "equal partner" for the long haul, unlike UT which has a track record of causing conference instability (SWC and Big12) due to its greed, ego, and unwillingness to be an equal partner who's committed to the success and well-being of the conference.
The SEC hit the jackpot with A&M and would have done anything to get them. As Mike Slive said, "When a university like Texas A&M approaches you, you don't hesitate." Missouri was a good "filler" addition, but we definitely rode A&M's coattails into the sweet, lush, green pastures of the almighty SEC.
