Refusing to hold AA students to the same academic and behavioral standards is the worst kind of racism in my book. If I walk up and punch someone or call them the N word or even refuse to hire them because they are black those are just temporary setbacks that they will heal or overcome in a short amount of time.
BUT when I refuse to hold a child to educational or behavior standards I am crippling that child for life.
My wife had a principal a few years back that would have fit in great with this St Paul group. He refused to suspend AA boys because it was damaging to their psyches and denied them their right to an education. You can guess the results of this once the guys figured it out. I consider this man the most racist individual I have ever met and I have a step-uncle who once refused to let my cousin's black friend enter his house. One was ignorant and embarrassing but did no real harm, the other was in a position to have a positive impact on AA lives and instead hobbled those very kids.
