I share much of what I have learned. Some of it I don't buy into, some I do.

OK then with this idea of a theme - And you have to understand HOW the Bible was constructed and the socio-political forces at play there, how Orthodoxy become orthodoxy and Heresy, heresy (such as the Gnostic viewpoints, long buried, until found at Nag Hamadi)

The CHOICES about what lines attributed to the teacher and what stories about him were just that - choices. It is not history - but literature. DAMNED powerful literature, but literature nonetheless.

But granted ALL of that - what is this with Death and Resurrection. I tell thus our death is but a sleep and forgetting. The Church tells me I must behave or I will be punished. I must behave and I will be rewarded. I don't buy it.

Point out this Death and Resurrection theme you say is THROUGHOUT the NT. I want nothing but to expand my understanding.
