Makeshift roadside memorials,
Marches for...justice, jobs and whatever else they can come up with that have no impact on violence,
Speeches from politicians and community organizers,
More laws having nothing to do with violence,
More gun regulations.
More marches, to take back the night. Or take back our neighborhoods.
More speeches for justice.
But not a syllable about changing the lives of the people affected by violence.
Nothing about personal responsibility.
Nothing about parenting.
Nothing about working WITH the police.
Nothing about breaking up gangs.
Nothing about churches.
Nothing about changing the elected representatives. The plantation is deadly, but it's comfortable.
