The only possible way I could agree with you is if you agree that it was designed to be a massive failure that would open the door to single payer.

I believe that it was designed to be a spectacular failure. The only flaw in the system is the dems listened to the media and believed the GOP was in its death throes. They thought the dems would now be in control of both houses and the White House and could easily fix Obamacare with a single payer system. They did not foresee the GOP being back in charge.
