is 'working well'?
Many people, myself included, have seen their premiums more than triple and seen their deductibles do the same while becoming totally front loaded. With my current plan I am out of pocket $6000 and my employer another $2500 before I see a dime of coverage. This is not a family plan, it is for me alone, $8500 upfront before the plan does anything. We joke that our new health care plan is 'don't get sick' but seriously if two professional people cannot afford to use the health care that they are paying for themselves how does this plan in any way help the poor?
The 'victory' is that 20M people now have insurance coverage. When you are poor a $5000 deductible may as well be $50000. Twenty million people now have health insurance that they cannot afford to actually use. And to achieve this incredible feat we broke the system for another 100M people who once had affordable and therefore usable coverage before the 'fix'.
This was not the fault of the insurance companies like you pretend. This was another failure of social engineering. One success of Obamacare is that the poor now have equivalent health care to the middle class but sadly this is due to destroying middle class health care not fixing it for the poor.
