I'm a doctor and routinely joke with my patients about how horrible the law is. Fortunately I live in an arena where many of my patients just prefer to pay cash rather than the outrageous deductibles they are now subject to.

The problem I see from both sides is they equate health insurance to healthcare. The dirty secret is for most elective stuff you don't need insurance and often times pay far less with cash. The subsidized industry is driving up costs.
