who I think are capable of having really monster seasons at the bat, and by that I mean .350 to .400 average, and for Sanchez, Rathburn and Pierce 15-20 HRs, 50-60 RBIs.
But realistically, this lineup will need to hit well up and down the order. Fleming is reportedly in great shape and ready to have a big senior year, and is capable of 10-15 HRs, I just don't know if she's going to get enough at bats. She will by one of a number of players fighting over maybe 1-2 positions that aren't locked up. Romaine will need to hit well, there are several other candidates for 2B. And her senior year would be a great time for Mack to have a significant impact on the offense. She has developed into a very good catcher, but wasnt much of a factor overall at bat last year. I'd take a repeat of her sophomore season: .294 average, 15 HRs, 48 RBIs.
Baxter I just dont know about. She has good skills yes. My impression so far though is she is a much better practice pitcher than an in-game pitcher. We've all seen her throw great stuff in a game situation and then unravel to some extent. If she can put it all together then yes we could have an effective 4 pitcher rotation, which isn't the worst thing if you don't have a clear cut dominating ace. All 4 of our pitchers have unique skill sets, and pitching 2-3 of them in games isn't a bad idea; you are constantly giving the opponent a different look and speed so they can't dial in on one person.
This is going to be an interesting season one way or another, and fun to watch. We will enter the season more lightly regarded than I can remember, and I think EE will use that as a motivating point with them. I don't think it would be a bad thing if we are snubbed in the initial polls.
