Yes, it is not money, but love of money . . . got that.
The poster was making a point on being a True Christian. I was simply pointing out that in Merica we have strayed pretty far from the teachings of the Nazarene.
And YES - you must give up one for the other. If you want GOD, Allah, Ahura Mazda, by many names called - God is there for you to achieve. But you cannot have money too. At the level of the Christ - God is all or nothing.
If you want money. Take all you want, do all you want, spend your TIME going after it, TIME that might otherwise be devoted to God.
In the Catholic Mass there is a GREAT GREAT line that sums up ALL OF IT, near as I can tell, and yet it is buried in the middle of the service.
PRAISE GOD ALWAYS and EVERYWHERE. You're not chasing coin if you are doing that.
And of course there is balance in life. But TRUE CHRISTIAN - that is a narrow one-way path.
